Another way of organising our thoughts and therefore improving our memory is by using Concepts. Concept Formation is basically putting our thoughts into special groups or categories. For example, the word animal is a concept. Within this concept is a sub concept, for example, birds or fish and a further sub-concept for bird being species of birds each having wings, beak etc and the same for fish by each having gills, fins and scales etc. By using this method in the future, we subconsciously put our thoughts into the appropriate concept or sub-concept, therefore helping us to recall everything we know about animals much easier.
