In the germination of bean seed
First the radicle grows
The radicle emerges through the micropyle
Then the radicle elongates in the direction of soil water and gravitational force After this the radicle forms the primary root. By this time the seed absorbs more water and swells more. As a result of this, the seed coats bursts more and more. Now the hypocotyl grows. The hypocotyl elongates into a loop like structure. The hypocotyl emerges from the soil. The hypocotyl is continuous at one end with the primary root. The hypocotyl is connected with the plumule at the other end. The primary root gradually produces more and more secondary branches and subbranches. Thus the primary root forms the normal tap root system. The hypocotyl grows more. The hypocotyl starts becoming straight and erect. The hypocotyl pulls out the two colyledons with the enclosed and well protected plumule from the seed coats.
