This assignment will focus upon the care given to a client presenting with an altered health condition during practice placement within the community care setting. In this instance, the condition is iron deficiency anaemia (IDA). The woman was a 28 year old primagravida in her 27th week of pregnancy who, following her routine antenatal blood test for Full Blood Count (FBC), was found to have a Haemoglobin (Hb) level of 10.1g/dl. She was also symptomatic of IDA and tested negative for Hb electrophoresis. This assignment will discuss the pathophysiology of the womans condition.
