The Factory is a voluntary detached provision predominantly for Asian males aged between the ages of 11 to 25 years; however the majority of those engaging are between the ages of 13 to 19 years old. The Factory, based on the streets in Loughborough, Leicestershire and statutory funded by the Local Education Authority, was established in 2000 by two youth workers and a group of young people who used to meet at an old derelict warehouse. The aim was to encourage young Asian males in the area to engage with the youth service. Andrew Lake is the Project Manager of The Factory and has overall responsibility, he works alongside Kasem Choudhury a Project Worker and Akkas Minah a Project Worker and former member.
