In this essay i am going to use Mill road, Cambridge as a case study to look at differences and inequalities that can occur on the street. In TMA 01 i described difference as the variations between individuals, and according to Blakeley and Staples inequality is the uneven distribution of valued social resources within society[Open Uni,2014, p25] I will use TMA 01 and what i have learnt so far on DD102 and relate it back to what i learnt looking at City road. This will allow me to see trends and patterns that happen within society.
Mill road is a long road that runs from the city centre at one end to the outskirts of town at the other. Closest to the city centre the road is built up with lots of buildings and many shops, often with rundown looking bedsits above. At the opposite end the houses are a lot tidier to look at and larger.
