For this essay I am going to be discussing Howard Hawks Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953). In doing this I am going to explore in detail: Gender, representation and sexual spectacle explaining exactly what they mean and how they relate to the film. I am going to break representation down, looking at stereotypes, in particular the dumb blonde stereotype in relation to Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes….(short extract)
