Secretin, enterokrinine and duocrinin stimulate the intestinal wall and help in secretion of intestinal juice. This juice contains various peptidases together known as erepsin, different carbohydrases, lipase and nuclease as active enzymes which act in alkaline medium. The erepsin catalysis the conversion of polypeptides and peptides in to different amino acids. The maltase among the various amylases catalyses the conversion of maltose in to glucose. Lipase helps converts fats in to fatty acids and glycerol, while the nucleases helps conversion of DNA and RNA in to dinucleotides and mononucleotides. Thus digestion is completed in the small intestine when the food is converted into alkaline fluid form which is called chyle.
