Archambaults (2012) research project draws upon refugee children’s perspectives and experiences whilst staying in asylum centres in Norway. Their narratives explain their feelings whilst staying in asylum centres, waiting to be relocated to a home they can settle in. Their voices give valuable sources of evidence on their thoughts, expectations, their concepts of home and challenges they face as asylum seekers. Research conducted over a two year period in 2007 and 2008, using semi-structured interviews and participative observations, collected data using qualitative research methods to examine their experiences of migration. Twelve families with children aged between 7 and 12 years participated in the research, they were first introduced in asylum centres before settlement.
