I did a presetation about Emirtatiztion ( in UAE ) and the teacher feedback was below:-
( Time: 11.45am – 12.05pm (20 min’s)
Topic: Emiratisation
You kept the same arrangement as the trainers before you and this was appropriate from a Health and Safety point of view.
You started with a good explanation of Emiratisation but then proceeded to talk for about 4 minutes without asking the group any questions or introducing an icebreaker.
It was noticeable that when you gave the group a task you went to their table instead of behind the lap top and were immediately supportive.
Having started without much interaction you were more supportive when the task was given and there was a lot of discussion. You introduced this saying ‘I want you to share your HR strategy with the aims’ Whilst at the table you answered all queries and gave support. Delegates were referred to by first name, as was appropriate.
Your opening was too trainer controlled. You told the group about Emiratisation and about the agenda and the goals. You should use an icebreaker Shamsa. This will help to get the group talking and will also help you by reducing any nerves you might have. You should also discuss ground rules.
Regarding training techniques and methods you should involve the group more. Ask formative questions to check out what they currently know.
The choice of Emiratisation would probably have been better as a presentation topic rather than a training one because there was no theory or concepts, though I thought that your slide with the 10 HR functions had tremendous potential.
Your session was too short and you could and should have introduced several more slides and another large exercise.
This criterion checks that you used training resources. You used the power point slides and lap top and though the exercise held group attention, but looked uncertain when relating this to your last slide of the 10 functions and so this finished very early. You appeared under familiar with materials and under rehearsed.
The monitoring was shown during the exercise when you stood close to the delegates and answered their questions. A piece of advice Shamsa is that you make sure that the group is given good exercise instructions so they will not need clarification. Try this again with thorough instructions on paper.
Your summary/conclusion was a little abrupt. You asked ‘Any questions?’ and referred the group to the post course evaluation form.
However, the group found this interesting and said you had good gestures and this was fun.
My personal feedback is that you need to concentrate on two tasks – ask more questions and involve the group as a result and put more content into the session since it was too short.
—— NOW —– i need you to answer these questions to match teacher feedback … questione are :-
1- how to ensure own capability and readiness to deliver a specific learning and development activity???
2- how to ensure the availability of space, equipment and resources required for the activity.
3- Explain physical and psychological features of ‘a positive learning environment’
