In this assignment I have decided to focus my discussion around homeless people. Crane [1999:3] suggests that in the past stereotypical images of people who were homeless were of tramps or bag ladies, alcoholics or drug addicts, but over recent years the problem of homelessness has become more associated with younger people who sleep in shop doorways and beg on the streets.  People who are homeless can often be perceived in a negative way by both the public and media; however Donnellan [2004:2] suggests that people who experience homelessness are one of the most vulnerable and socially excluded population within our society….(short extract)
