Assignment Task
You are required to produce a report of not more than2750 words which analyses the McDonalds operation as described in the case. You should use this case study as the base material for your assignment,assessing the processes and procedures included against the concepts and theories you have been taught in the lectures and read about in the recommended reading list or elsewhere. You should consider yourself to be a Business Consultant providing analysis and advice to McDonalds that addresses the questions shown.
Your report must be submitted electronically to Moodle via Turnitin on Thursday December 10th. You are advised to submit during the working day so that staff are available to assist in cases of difficulty, should Moodle or Turnitin suffer a technical failure a 24 automatic extension will apply.This report accounts for 90% of your total mark.
In addition in week 8 you should submit an outline plan of 250 words, which covers how you intend to approach the assignment task, and which theoretical aspects you intend to include. This work should be submitted electronically to Moodle via Turnitin on Thursday November 12th. This plan accounts for 10% of your total mark. You will receive feedback on your plan in week 9 which you should use to inform your final report.
The combined pass markis 40%. Submissions which achieve a mark between 30-39 will be awarded a resit. Resits will involve a reworking of your original piece in accordance with feedback given and the preparation of a short reflective piece. The combined pass mark for the resit is 40%. All submissions should be in line with university regulations for line spacing and font size and you may be required to resubmit your work if it does not.

1. Using the information available in the case, carry out an analysis of the McDonald’s operation, including reference to relevant theories that have been covered in the course material.
2. Your contact at McDonalds has raised a concern about the high level of food wastage. Provide recommendations on what steps could be taken to reduce the amount of waste generated.
3. Provide a set of conclusions and recommendations which address what you consider to be the strengths and weaknesses of the operation.
