If the seller commits a breach of any of his obligations under the contract, the buyer is entitled to damages for any losses that breach causes him. The Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations implement an entirely new part to the Sale of Goods Act 1979, to be introduced after s.48 which now governs the common law rules that apply to contract for the sales of goods and the buyers basic remedies to terminate the contract, the right to reject the goods and the right to claim damages.
