The project is a major assignment and will be weighted more heavily than the typical assignment. The project is a culminating activity designed to incorporate all the skills you should have developed in this class. The project requires organization and provides an opportunity to coordinate diverse ideas into cohesive written and oral reports—a realistic business activity.
You will choose a business to research, and you will be required to give oral and written reports on your findings. The oral report can last no longer than 5 minutes (no less than 3 minutes), and must include visual aides.

Overall delivery—voice, gestures, presence, enthusiasm
Visuals—quality, enhancement (5 – 6 PowerPoint slides)

Written Report
The written report must be typed, double spaced, and appropriately packaged for a professional appearance. Correct in-text APA citations are required. A copy of each textbook and/or encyclopedia source that documents and substantiates your report should be included. Use of tables, graphics, and/or pictures and illustrations is recommended but not required and must be presented correctly whether in the text or appendices. Reports must include primary and/or secondary data sources. You will need to be sure that you make appropriate use of qualitative and quantitative data. Personal interviews are permitted and encouraged and should be appropriately cited in the body of the report.
You have been asked to make oral and written reports to/for corporate officers. Provide sources of information on a reference page written in correct APA format, and write your report in third person, formal format.
In addition to submitting a hard copy of the written report, you must submit an electronic copy of your report to SafeAssign. The hard copy of the report will not be graded until the electronic copy is received by the instructor. Failure to submit either copy of the report will result in the grade of “0” on the final project and/or failure of the class.

Business Assessment and Evaluation
The president of your consultation company has given you the assignment of assessing and evaluating a local business for purposes of improvement of business operations. As a business consultant, you will visit the designated business and assess and evaluate the operations of the business in one main area—communication (including social media presence). You will then write a report containing information describing the present status of operation in the areas of communication and technology, and give recommendations about methods, techniques, or systems that may be utilized for improving the efficiency of operation of the business.
Project may include, but is not limited to the following:
Economic status of the industry
Location and physical description of the business; improvements needed
Description of the communication systems between supervisors/employees, employees/employees, and employees and customers/clients
◦ Business relationship expectations
Recommendations* for improving communication(s)
*Each recommendation needs to include cost, time, personnel, and a detailed guide to describe “how” this recommendation will be accomplished.
