Read Wen Fong’s article, “Why Chinese Painting is History,” and explain why he makes this argument. His concerns of Chinese history of painting

resonates with other scholars such as James Cahill and Richard Vinograd who also express their concern of Western scholarly discourses on art

history. Clarify what some Western (non-Chinese art history specialist in Europe and America) scholarly assumptions are and analyze Fong’s work.

You need to incorporate at least 5 scholarly views in this assignment. Please be specific when you explain those scholars’ arguments using
