Aristotle’s definition of rhetoric

Paper instructions:
Compose a research paper (5 to 7 pages) on the following topic:
Outline Aristotle’s definition of rhetoric, and identify the role rhetoric plays in our present-day political process.
You might compare and contrast with political practice in Aristotle’s time, and may want to incorporate a brief discussion of
Aristotle’s three species of rhetoric. Your paper should not include a lengthy analysis of a court case, political debate or
proceeding. Instead, it should be an analysis of our political process as it has evolved from its foundations in ancient
Greece.
To support your observations, you should include at least three references. You may use the required texts for the
course, the supplemental articles and speeches, or any other source that supports your analysis.
