Application of Laplace Distribution

The Laplace distribution has been used in speech recognition to model prior on DFT coefficient. The addition of Noise drawn from the Laplacian distribution, with scaling parameter appropriate to a functions sensitivity, to the output of a statistically database query is the most common means to provide differential privacy in the statically database. The least absolute deviation estimate arises as the maximum likelihood estimate if the errors have the Laplace distribution. Following are the application of Laplace distribution:
