This assignment will critically discuss the positive and the negative aspects of entitling children and young people make their own decisions and how adults can support children to do this. This will include the views and perspectives of children within their families and in relation to different services that support children.  This assignment will then go on to consider how children can be given the opportunity to participate in decision making despite disability, ethnicity and gender. It will include how children can participate and be involved in decision making in schools, different settings and the different ways in which children can have their views and opinions heard.
