ADJUSTMENT MESSAGE
Assignment:
Write a business letter in response to the following fact pattern. You are responsible for creating or obtaining a graphic logo that will go on the letterhead of your business letter.
Fact Pattern:
You are the owner of the Regal 5 Multiplex. You received a complaint from the town “oddball” Randle McMurphy. Mr. McMurphy saw last nights showing of “Death in the Asylum”. He believes that the movie’s hero, Chief Bromden, caught the wrong man. He is convinced that the character Nurse Ratched is actually the murderer. Due to this “sloppy police work” he wants a refund of $27 for his ticket and large popcorn combo.
Although his complaint is ridiculous, Mr. McMurphy is prone to outbursts, and can be vindictive. Last year, he was escorted out of a showing of “My Buddy the Martian” when he began screaming that martians were blue and not green. Although it was never proven, you believe he was the one who smashed the theaters front door later that evening. He comes from a prominent local family, and is something of a local “celebrity”.
Taking this into consideration, you have decided to send him a refund. A copy of this letter should go to Ken Kesey, your theater manager.
