Description
I gained experience by shadowing a lymph-odema clinical nurse specialist to see how she assessed and managed patients with this condition and observed what kind of health promotion and advice was given to patients. I have also spent a day in the Community Leg Ulcer Clinic. I have practiced hand and arm compression bandaging and palliative bandage in my placement area. I explained to patient that the link between venous leg ulcers and lymphoedema and educated them how to manage venous leg ulcers and prevention of recurrence through using compression hosiery and also the importance of good skin care and foot care.
