The Real World of Management
Project description
Your portfolio did have some content across the pages, but it was very difficult to read through your portfolio as a coherent piece of research, as it is trying to work with a range of subject areas that do not appear to be linked effectively.
You include a range of subject areas across your pages(organisation learning, value chain, interactions, resistance, culture etc.), however it would help to review the use of your introduction page to set up and explain a more defined focus for the research. Highlight for the reader what the research is aiming to work with and why (what is the value of the research for your learning and development ? What questions are you aiming to work with? If there are multiple subject areas ensure that you have established why you are including them (how do they link together to shape your core focus?). This will help you to make decisions about what you include as content on the pages – in terms of is it relevant for investigating your focus?
Your pages need the integration of more of your commentary to show how you are making use of the material to investigate issues arising from your research focus.

Review the structure and layout of the portfolio to develop a flow of ideas through the portfolio and to help the reader work their way through the pages. Review the structure and links between your pages – so when you put your pages into a collection the tabs at the top are in an appropriate sequence.
Review the conclusion to build more depth and make it clear how your conclusions are being drawn from the previous pages within the portfolio. This section offers the opportunity to revisit your introduction and the focus you set up. What has the research told you about the links between theory and practice. What learning for you from having undertaken the research?
You include a reference page and some references in the introduction, but you also need to reference your sources within each of the other pages to evidence the sources you are citing. It is essential to cite all sources of secondary material/evidence/theory.
Prior to submission check the accuracy of the writing and referencing to ensure that all parts are clear for the reader
As set up in class sessions work on achieving an effective balance betweenevidence/data/organisation examples – academic theory/literature and importantly your critical commentary. At present it is difficult to clearly distinguish these three core ingredients (some colour coding can be used if this helps the reader)
· Ensure that the portfolio has clear evidence, with an indication of where it has been sourced from
· Ensure that you reinforce what parts are your commentary – i.e. where you are building your analysis and evaluation of the issues arising from the research into your
