The Preparations for Collaboration Performance in Thackray Museum

Leeds Thackray Museum
Written Report – Guidance
Use the following as a main title/questions for your written report. See the Module Handbook pages 5-7 for more general guidance on how to prepare this 2,000-2,500 “critical analysis of both sector and process”.
You are working closely with the education department at Leeds Thackray Museum on different ways of engaging visitors to the Museum, with a special focus on its changing historical identities, while creating material that might appeal to a range of age groups over a weekend period. While investigating the cultural and economic contexts in which this privately-funded museum operates, explore the challenges as well as possibilities of working with the reality that “museum audiences may be the most accidental audiences found in all of applied theatre” (Prendergast & Saxton, 2009: 154).
How much room is there in such circumstances to bring different perspectives or ways of seeing the exhibits as well as the location and its unique and complex history? What are the constraints or limiting factors arising from either the requirements of the client or the cultural and economic environment, etc.?

My Major job for this collaboration is the “Costume Design and Makeup Design” , please write this essay’s project mainly base on the photos I provided in the file through your website’s online chat.

My performance group’s topic is “ Magic and medicine” , therefore i decided to used the “Witch” in the Thackray Museum for the Magic part. In order to express the elements of “Witch” in the victoria times, I designed this set of costume by using the black elastic fabric, so that the dancers can move in a really comfortable way. Black lace fabric express the seduction, sexy and mistery perspectives of the “Witch” .

There is only 1 design for the costume, and only 1 design for the makeup(Both by using the photoshop), and the costume has been made in Beijing. The costume making process is just like in any western countries such like UK or US tailors.
I draw the graphs for 3 days; From day 4, i went to buy the fabric ; Day 5 then got to a costume factory ( specific for drama costume making) to finish cutting the all the fabrics. Day 10, i started to chose the sparkling little materials for the headset, and erned everything together.

This essay could be focus more on the appreciation of art during the Victoria times, in order to describe why both the costume and makeup designs has been expressed in such ways.
