The memory of Nazi Germany in Berlin during the Cold War

A paper which focuses on the “memory” of Nazi Germany in the city of Berlin during the Cold War. Focusing on how the city was divided. Here is what I have so far,

“The memory of Nazi Germany is still ever present in Berlin and moreover the entire world. When someone speaks of Germany, I’m sure that many people instantly flash to

thoughts of the red black and white Nazi flags and Hitler. That is a very big burden to overcome and live with. World War II and the Nazis affected Berlin more so than

any other German city for the simple fact that it was the capital and Hitler’s main staging area as well as being the eventual end to the war in Europe with the Soviet

conquering of Berlin and the death of Adolf Hitler. the aftermath of the war also took a drastic toll on Berlin with the city being divided into the East and Western

portions being respectively occupied by the Soviets and the other Allied powers.
