Select a film or television show (The L Word) (available on netflix) (two episodes minimum) for your case study and do a report based on the following criteria:

Watch the show with an open and objective mind.
Focus on the themes that may influence the audience to react or think in certain ways. Are there any subtextual or subliminal messages embedded in the performance?
Provide a brief summary of the performance (Key characters, plot, and story)
Interpret, analyze, and evaluate the performance.
Provide and support your observations with at least three specific important examples from the performance that may influence or change the viewer’s perspective on an issue or possibly bring attention to a problem.
Compare and contrast to other performances you’ve seen. Are they similar or different? Why?
Conclusion – What kind of impact or effect the show has for the mass media audiences? Did you have a changed or renewed perspective on the main theme of the performance after watching the performance?
Tips:

Don’t go into too much detail about the production elements of the performance. Try to summarize the best as you can and get to the point.
Don’t be overtly critical or judgmental about a performance. Focus on the storyline and the characters presented in the performance.
Do make intelligent and objective observations by using your critical thinking skills.
Consider how much effect does the film/television show has on the mass media audiences. Explain in detail why.
