Purpose
Analyze the four essential elements of transformational leadership
Overview
Transformational leaders are said to possess or exhibit four essential characteristics known as the four “I”s. These are: Intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation, idealized influence, and individual consideration. When these elements are brought together a leader can possess the skills, behaviors, and competencies to initiate effective organizational growth, change and cohesiveness. This assignment calls for you to fully explain the four “I”s and why they are so essential to transformative leadership.
Action Items
1. Produce a minimum five- to seven-slide presentation that includes the grid elements in order to do the following: Provide real- life examples from your work experience of a leader or different leaders that have demonstrated each transformational characteristic. Specifically, state how each leader accomplished this. You will likely identify separate leaders in order to provide an example for each transformational characteristic (e.g., intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation, idealized influence, individual consideration).
Note: If you do not have a bona-fide example of a leader that demonstrates a specific trait, either use a national or world figure in the news as an example.
Grading Criteria
Writing style, grammar, sentence structure, and APA format: Sentences are consistently clear, concise, well written; grammar and punctuation are correct. Correct use of APA referencing format
Content and focus: Response addressed the question(s) posed in a logical, cohesive manner
Analysis and critical thinking: Presentation illustrates higher order critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, and/or evaluation
