Part 1 This part should be 3 pages long
Define terrorism, outline its history, discussing the difference between domestic and international terrorism and common tactics of terror groups providing 5 references for your work. Your part 1 will be an introduction and contain the purpose of the paper and overview. Again, in part 1, you will write an introduction describing terrorism and its historical underpinnings.

Part 2, This part should be 4 pages long
Is the identification and discussion of at least two theories that could be used to explain this phenomenon; terrorism and why someone becomes a terrorist or joins a terrorist organization Theories include but not limited to; psychological, political, religious and other theories. Part 2 will contain your selection of one of the theoretical approaches you discussed in part 2 explaining the why of the phenomenon – terrorism.

Part 3 This part should be 5 pages long
Make an argument why the theory you selected is the main reason for homegrown terrorism in the U.S. and propose measures using this theoretical approach to counter homegrown terrorism in the U.S.
In your paper you may want to write about case studies or reports about homegrown terrorist’s, to back up your choice of a theoretical approach. Like any behavior understanding ‘why’ the behavior occurs is important to preventing or deterring the behavior.
