Project description
Applying Standardized Terminologies in Practice
For the selected patient scenario, with a nursing diagnosis : Decreased Cardiac Output, identify related NANDA, NIC, and NOC elements. Describe in detail the data, information, knowledge, and wisdom (DIKW framework).
The patient presented to the ER with diaphoresis and a BP of 110/47, respiration rate 22, Pulse Oximetry 90% on room-air, reports chest pain 6/10 The patient is A/Ox3 and informed admission that he typically monitors his BP at home because of years with a history of hypertension, at times SBP runs in the high 160s, he also mentioned a history of cardiac stent placements. The patient then reported increased mid-sternal chest pain 9/10 and became more diaphoretic with a drop in BP, based on this information there was a high possibility the patient was experiencing a MI. The patient was placed on continuos ECG monitoring, supplemental O2, given morphine IV, an aspirin and nitroglycerin tab sublingual., additional test were ordered including serial cardiac enzymes, chest xray, CMP, CBC, Urinalysis and the patient was prepared for a cardiac cauterization to rule out myocardial infarction (MI).
