Literature Review

The candidate needs to ground her/his work in what the literature says about developing the school community relations plan. As well, he/she will want the work they do to be in compliance with any relevant standards. This portion of the project should be presented in a 4-page (maximum) “in a nutshell” overview of the literature in public relations. Include references for at least 5 sources from the professional literature.

Implementation Proposal

Create a proposal (5 pages maximum) based on a thorough knowledge of key implementation issues, including the mission and vision of the school, high quality professional development, personnel needs, and a school community relations budget. Include an evaluation plan for assessing the effectiveness of the plan.

Assessment Plan

Create an assessment plan which will help a constituent better understand the community (both internal and external publics), that will be the basis for an effective school community relations plan, conduct the assessment, and write a brief (3-4 pages) summary of the findings. Include in the plan the purpose(s), assessment questions, assessment tools, timelines, and roles and responsibilities.
