This is an individual research project proposal.
The director of a 500-bed general governmental hospital is not satisfied with the quality improvement program in his hospital. The program has been implemented for the past 5 years. You are assigned the task of preparing a proposal for an evaluation study of the hospital’s quality improvement program. The objectives of the study are:
1. To describe the infrastructure of program in details.
2. To describe the components (activities) of the program and their implementation in details.
3. To evaluate the program infrastructure, components, and implementation using standards/criteria

Assessment Text
Describe the methodology for assessment of the quality improvement program in a 500-bed general governmental hospital. Include (a) description of the infrastructure of the program; and (b) components and the implementation details of the program.

Tasks:
1. Specify the infrastructure aspects of the program that you will describe, and the details of each aspect that you will investigate.
2. Specify the components (activities) of the program that you will describe, and the details of each component and its implementation that you will investigate.
3. Identify the standards/criteria against which you will judge the organizational and implementation aspects of the program.
4. Select and describe data collection methods (e.g., administering questionnaires, interviewing, observation, and/or reviewing documents)
5. Identify data sources, sample size, and data collectors.
6. Describe data collection tool(s). Include tools in appendix.
7. Include time plan for data collection.
8. Provide format (dummy tables) for data presentation.
9. Use appropriate references, especially for evaluation standards.
10. Prepare a written report.
