Plan assessment and critique

Analyzing Plans Drawn by Others:

One of the most important aspects of learning planning is inspecting and critiquing plans drawn by others. In fact, innovation is the process of adapting from others. Much of the time, things we use as an ?innovation? in our own community or region is an adaptation from another community or region. The purpose and objective of this activity is to find an urban or regional long term plan from a community or region in which you do not live and one in which you did not participate in the creation of said plan. Your objective in this activity is to summarize it, critique it, and suggest changes (modest or substantial) as a planning exercise. How well does this plan address transportation changes, expansion (annexation), expanded needs for water and sewer services, street maintenance and repair, zoning, consistency with existing facilities, and responses to disasters or terrorist acts including police and fire services. How would you change or enhance this plan?
