Personal Leadership Analysis and Action Plan
Part 1:
You will evaluate 2 personal critical incidents. (your personal experience)
For each incident, in 3 pages, you should:
a. Summarize the story when you felt effective or ineffective. It should include what happened, who was involved, your opinion, feelings, and thoughts
b. You will use the definition of EI competencies from the Primal Leadership book (in attachment ) to analyze these incidents and identify your competencies.
Note: each critical incident a) and b) must be clearly separated and analyzed in the paper. Ie. Critical incident a) is page 1 to 3, and Critical incident b) is page 4 to 6.
Part2:
Following the 5 Dimensions (discoveries) of learning – From the Primal leadership book (in attachment ) , and use the EI competencies you have identified form part 1 of this paper, and assessment your strengths based on strengths Finder (T. Rath), prepare a personal leadership analysis and action plan. This should:
a. Self-analysis
– Identify your ideal self – who you want to be, what traits you consider important in a leader
– Identify what your actual traits and competencies are
– Define the gap between your actual and ideal self
b. Action Plan:
– What learning do you need to undertake to close this gap and build on your strengths
– What practices and behaviours do you have to emulate going forward
– What barriers do you foresee and how do you plan to overcome these
PS. Since it is about personal experience, you can use you own experience or make up some.
For part 2, 5 discoveries and EI competencies are in attachment. Strengths in Finder could be “connectedness”, “Ideation”, “Includer”, “Intellection”, “positivity” and so on.

Introduction
