Personal Ethics Statement

According to Aristotle, personal ethics emphasize the importance of both reason and virtue in building good moral character. Personal ethics is about what matters to us and how we act in the world. Personal ethics determine our “true colors,” and informs the decisions we make, and how we interact with others. To some extent it also determines the environment in which we find ourselves.

In a two to four page paper (APA format) clearly identify your personal ethics, values, morals and beliefs (a personal ethics statement).Your paper should provide a discussion on how your personal ethics were developed, define your values, and the sources (people, institutions, events, etc.) that helped shape them. Chapter 4 (The Good Life) of the text offers some potential background and models as starting points for this project. Reading this chapter before you start writing may be helpful.
