Case Assignment
The literature has identified many origins of violence.
Your task is to write a 2-page paper discussing the origins of violence in the following case scenario.
A much publicized case is that of the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Search for articles and newscasts about the story.
There are three main tasks for this assignment:
1. First, compare and contrast one biological explanation of why this event occurred. Then, provide one alternative sociological (i.e. social) explanation of why

the event occurred.
2. State your position on which explanation is more reasonable in this scenario.
3. Describe one effective strategy to reduce this type of violence.

For this assignment, you will think about your own community. It can be where you currently live or where you grew up. Using at least 3 reliable data sources (not just

opinions and anecdotes), do the following:
Name the community.
Identify and discuss whether and how violence has affected the health and welfare of the community and its residents. Provide at least 3 concrete examples and/or

statistics about the issues in that community. You can use statistics, local news stories, etc.
Identify least 1 resource for people in that area. Describe the resource, the organization, what services or assistance it provides, its funding sources, and include a

link directly to the information.

3.   Write an annotated bibliography for each source. For each source, explain how it will help you better understand this form of violence and how it will inform
