Paper instructions:
FORMAT REQUIREMENTS: These requirements are NOT optional. Part of your credibility as a writer comes from your ability to produce a professional document.
Your essay must be about 1000-1250 words (that’s about 4 pages) typed, double-spaced, in 12 point Times New Roman Font.
You must use standard MLA page format—that includes an MLA header, a title, page numbers, and standard margins (usually 1 inch all around). To set your margins in
Word, click on File, then Page Setup, and then use the drop-down menus to change the margins to 1 inch all around. Also, you may need to eliminate extra white space
between paragraphs, before and after the title, and between lines of your header. If you are using Word 2007, you may need to change the spacing to ‘0’ under
Paragraph.
Your essay must demonstrate some evidence of revision. In other words, do not submit your rough draft as your final draft.
REQUIRED SOURCES: Three sources minimum (must be from They Say/I Say Chapter 14 “Is Higher Education Worth the Price?”). Use MLA documentation style to cite your
sources (parenthetical documentation and Works Cited page required)
ASSIGNMENT: In this essay, you will enter into a conversation about any aspect of education discussed by the essayists in your textbook. You can agree, disagree,
or agree and disagree with any of the views presented. Your essay should provide a clear statement of your argument and demonstrate that you understand how to enter
an existing conversation. Use the templates in They Say, I Say to situate your argument within an existing conversation.
