I am looking for a one-page (roughly 350-word) description of your paper, with a strong statement of what you will argue (thesis) and an outline of the evidence you

will use to prove this claim.

A thesis can be any number of things, but it must be an argumentative claim, e.g. “Aphrodite is depicted as playful in our Archaic texts, whereas she seems more

violent in our Classical tragedies, a fact that likely seems due to the different performance contexts out of which these texts arose.” (Here I make an assertion about

the differing position of Aphrodite in different texts, and I argue for an explanation of this difference due to performance context.)
