The Globalization of World Politics in this specific casa as stated in paper requirements is the globalization of the economy and what characteristics have changed and have remained.

As stated time and again in this course, there is a tendency to equate globalization with changes in the global economy. The term political economy however indicates that the fields of economy and politics are inseparable, that markets do not operate in a complete vacuum, and that power, the central notion in the study and practice of politics, inevitably affects economic outcomes. Taking the oft-cited definition of power as ?the art of who gets what when and how?, the distribution of economic resources is determined by the distribution of political power, and conversely access to economic resources affects one’s political capability.

Theme five?s readings grapple with the question of a globalized world economy. The common theme running through the readings is that in today’s globalized world, some aspects of the global political economy have changed, but at the same time other elements have remained the same, or have been exacerbated, if not created, by globalization. Your assignment is to identify and briefly present what have changed and what remain the same or constant in today’s globalized economy. Dicken’s and Scholte?s chapters addresses the issue at length, but the other chapters also contain valuable information on it. Make sure you organize your essay in such a way that you identify and present each point one by one.
