Model Investigation and Denunciation Scenario:
Imagine yourself reporting to the United Nations about your investigation of one human rights crime in Bosnia, Guatemala, or Rwanda. You have a deadline to denounce the worsening human rights situation in the country. If you fail to denounce, more victims might fall prey to abuses.

You are required to write a report entitled, “Model Investigation and Denunciation Report”, of a particular human rights crime in a particular country (GENOCIDE IN Rwanda WITH FOCUS ON RAPE AND TORTURE).
The paper should be a maximum of 20-25 pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman font, size 12. It should include:
• An analysis of the human right crime
• An analysis of the larger historical criminal and socioeconomic context
• An analysis of examples of the crime taking place ten years ago and presently
• A brief analysis of who the victims and perpetrators were and are
• A conclusion of why this crime in this particular country is significant within the field of ICJ
• You might want to address the role of military intervention in the country you examine

This assignment consists of two parts: a) a five-page to ten page draft, and, B) a final report.

You will rely on secondary sources: books, newspapers, YouTube videos, films, photography, reports of Human Rights Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and United Nations reports, for example.

A. Ten-Page Draft
Due online via Turnitin.com and BB by midnight, Sunday, April 28th: 20%. Five to ten page page-draft. This draft must make the analytical connections between the larger socioeconomic and historical context and the human rights crime. Draft must include at least five scholarly references. Students will have time to incorporate comments to drafts in their final report.

B. Final Report (ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, BODY, CONCLUSION)
Students will write a final, twenty to twenty-five page report entitled, “Model Investigation and Denunciation Report.” Length does not include the bibliography (minimum three pages), and two one-page appendices.
