EAT117 Electronic Principles
The coursework requires the submission of a single report which contains two
elements which together contribute 50% to the overall module mark. The marks
shown indicate the maximum possible marks that each individual element
contributes to the final module mark.
The finished report should be submitted to the resource centre (Prospect
Building, St Peter’s) by the hand-in date shown above.
Coursework 1 (25%)
Write an essay about the different technologies which have been used to
implement logic systems both in the past and the present. Your essay
should be supported by references throughout.
Coursework 2 (25%)
This requires a section in the report detailing your solutions to the following
questions :
Q1. The presence of a 10V supply is to be indicated using a LED whose forward bias
voltage is 2.8V and maximum operating current is 20mA.
a) Evaluate the highest intensity solution possible using
series LED’s. (3%)
b) Design a parallel LED solution which uses 5 LED’s.
