The purpose of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to apply what has been learned in the course (through readings, exercises, resource materials, and discussions) to problems in an organization of your choice. As such, select a real organization and determine the following:
a) Select a company of your choice with either publicly available information or to which you have access to insider information.
b) Identify 3 issues or problems that are currently facing the organization.
c) Determine related concepts from BA351 that can be used to determine why these problems are occurring.
d) Make specific recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness.
Assignment Approach
The organizational problems should be clearly defined, manageable in scope, relevant to the course, and recent. Your report will also need to specifically address organizational change relevant to the recommendations that you put forth in your report. You may collect data via 1) experience gained from personal exposure, 2) information collected from a company contact, and/or 3) research from available public information.

Problem #1 Problem number one is the lack of motivation in the entire company.

The motivational problem falls into the category of individual processes in the organization. I think the problem with motivation starts with the owner. It is hard to be motivated to be on time to a job or place of employment when the owner is repeatedly late and some days just does not show up at all.

The company I chose is Alaska Auto Techs, it is a small automotive shop in Anchorage that has been experiencing some problems lately.
The problems I see are, low revenue stemming from multiple issues, a lack in motivation not only from the employees but the owner as well, quality of customer service is slowly sliding and quality of work is not monitored any more.
The only contact for this is the owner and myself.
I will attempt to correlate the problems with some of the concepts in the book and apply principles to improve the organization’s efficiency, leadership skills and create a valuable human and organizational relationship, hopefully to help find a solution other than just closing the business.
I think the concepts that I will apply here are, I will look at the differences in the individuals in the company, the motivational behavior of the owner and employees the company culture and the individual job satisfaction. I will look at the individual and the business.
