A company in Melbourne needs to transfer their data from Dandenong to Melbourne using a photonic
system with following specifications:
Modulation Frequency: 1.5 GHz
Link Gain: better than 5 dB
Input 1 dB compression point: at least -2 dBm
Dynamic Range: better than 60 dB at 1MHz
Using available components in the market (search internet to find appropriate components for your
system), design a system according to the specifications.
Indicate the name of component and the company, which produces the device. Similar to the case
study or laboratory, include each device’s specifications. If possible, include a data sheet for each
component as an appendix.
You need to explain why you have selected each component as well as showing your calculations for
the system.
