Education Lesson Plan

Lesson Plan Review assignment requires that you synthesize and apply course content to date. It focuses on using the arts standards and applying the concepts of problem-solving and the workshop lab model to review and refine a production (CPP) lesson.

The intent is that you find a pre-existing lesson on the internet (visual arts, dance, drama or creative writing; NO music) Then using the format provided, to re-write the lesson so it meets the guidelines of the assignment (that it is CPP and problem-solving). You are not being asked to write one from scratch (neither should you use activities we have done in class). Part of the purpose of this is for you to explore resources. And in considering sources, in general, suggest looking to .org or .edu (non-profit and educational) sites rather than .com (commercial) sites.

Also, note that just because a lesson plan is “published”, don’t assume it is appropriate, accurate, or really accomplishes what it claims to. You want to use these tools to review with a critical eye and ask if this really provides a substantial arts learning experience (and if not–how could I make it so?)
