E-business models and strategies

E-business models and strategies
The individual assignment requires students to produce a business proposal of a conceptual virtual organisation (online company) using appropriate e-business models and strategies. The virtual organisation must demonstrate how business processes and/or services can be implemented, supported, and improved. The proposal should also cover the management and maintenance issues relating to the e-business.

It is important to write a realistic business plan /proposal (based on research, creativity, and academic work) to make your proposal relevant to real-life business situations. However, you are not expected to include details of management teams, production plans and financial statements.

Prior to the submission of the proposal, you are expected to give a presentation based on the report for formative feedback in Week 21 and/or 22. Formative feedback will not be graded but will give you the opportunity to improve your business proposal prior to submission in Week 25.

Your report should cover the following:
• Name of your conceptual virtual organisation
• Mission statement and online value proposition/s (10% of marks)
• E-business model (inc. online revenue model(s), target market, marketplace positioning, representation in the physical world and/or virtual world) (40% of marks)
• Industry and competitor analysis (20% of marks)
• Issues related to the management and maintenance of your conceptual virtual organisation (30% of marks)

• Each individual has only 1 minute to present, so key points only.
• Your presentation should ONLY cover a brief overview of the business proposal.
Format and requirements:
• Your report should be balanced, concise and focused and no more than a maximum of 1800 words in length (±10%).
• It should be word-processed and the highest levels of presentation are expected.
