ü Make ONE INITIAL SUMMARY post discussing the evidence you found in your academic articles for both the pro and con sides. Be sure to provide a proper WORKS CITED (see the “Works Cited” guide this syllabus).

ü Make at least FOUR RESPONSE posts discussing your viewpoint. Use the information from your articles to “back up” your viewpoint. Challenge others views by presenting your research that backs up your view.

ü Be sure to cite properly in each post.

 

HINTS:

ü Focus on research (rather than personal opinion) & refer back to the research in each post. You are welcome to use personal experience in the debate responses, however, the main emphasis of the debate should be academic evidence. People can argue with your opinions, but solid academic research caries more weight.

ü Use the research to “prove” your view rather than vice versa.

ü Be sure to cite properly in each post.

ü If you notice a lot of students only one “one” side of the issue, challenge your own view and try to come up with the “other side” of the issue.
