4. According to Hazelwood and Burgess (2009), are cyber pedophiles considered to be strangers or more of acquaintances by the adolescent victims? Why is this so?

5. What factors and/or functions have been associated with violence in juveniles? What, if any, are some other factors that may be attributed to violence in juveniles?

6. Throughout chapter 21 the disposition and decision making on behalf of the court on what to do with convicted juvenile offenders is found to be somewhat difficult. The questions such as, should they be committed to corrections or placed in a treatment program are imperative questions and require careful consideration. In order for mental health clinicians, probation officers, social services, and parole officers to make the right recommendations; what are some of the things the court should take into consideration? Several are discussed in the chapter, out of all of these, which do you feel is most important in your opinion?

Treatment program outcome data suggest that sexual recidivism rates are relatively low (5-15%) in adolescent males, and that these youths are, in fact, more likely to commit nonsexual than sexual crimes after release from institutional programs (Becker 1990;Kahn and Chambers 1991). Why do you think this is?
