The task is to produce document to support in the preparation for a practical workshop aimed at the engagement of stakeholder groups of the university – you should produce a portfolio of around 1,500 words detailing the event and activities. All must have academic support so if you have a task for the workshop there will be an accompanying piece of text explaining the academic reasoning for the use testing learning outcome one.
You are to plan and prepare the materials for a workshop for stakeholders. Using the university as your site you are to prepare the materials to be used for a stakeholder meeting to communicate the environmental issues, which the university faces and how the current work s enabling more effective environmental management. There is also a need to encourage discussion about the future direction for the university in relation to the environment. The primary aim of the meeting is to assess whether stakeholders would feel that the use of ISO14001 or the current ”Ecocampus” system to be more appropriate for the university. The stakeholders to be invited will include university senior management, local residents, councillors, local business representatives, university staff and students. How will you organise the the event to ensure that effective communication take place? What methods will you use to ensure that there is engagement? Where will you hold the event? Your documents will need to include details of all the information such as the use of environmental management tools (Risk Assessment, life cycle analysis (LCA), Cost benefit analysis (CBA) in assessing the impact of the organisation plus:how you propose to contact the stakeholders?who will be invited? Include the documents,which will put forward to the stakeholders and the documents to be used to encourage attendance. What information needs to be delivered and how this can be done effectively ? Marks will be awarded for proposed methods and use of appropriate environmental management tools to demonstrate the issues and factors involved, which must be supported by academic evidence of the effectiveness and quality of argument. This needs to be fully referenced (Havard style).
