Paper instructions:
The paper must be in APA format and include a cover page, abstract, discussion, conclusion, and references. Your paper should go beyond the obvious, be written at a graduate level, and must
be at least 1,200 words in length. You must use at least three resources to support your position. Remember, all resources including, but not limited to, journals, magazines, and/or books must
be properly cited using APA style. Please provide an abstract on this paper. For this assignment, imagine you are a principal, school administrator, or in charge of curriculum within a correctional

Chronic adult offenders commonly begin their criminal careers as chronic 3;”
juvenile offenders (Lynam, 1996; see also Loeber & Stouthamer-Loeber, 1998). l
Ideally, intervention strategies for criminal behavior should be initiated early,
before violent and criminal behavior becomes a stable part of an individual’s
repertoire. One method of intervening in treating or preventing chronic juvenile _ I
delinquency is through the school (Durlak, 1995; Lane & Murakami, 1987). This , =§, Ii I ‘ p
strategy may be effective for a number of reasons I; 1

to clearly specify a direction of causality (Yoshikawa, 1994). A causal link I
between low cognitive ability and delinquency might be mediated by academic ‘_ ‘E
