(APA format, not in first person), seeking approval from your school or district leader, to change the current instructional strategy in order to address the concern ascertained from the data collected in your interview. The proposal should include the concern, your recommendation, and a summary of what the research said about preparing learners for the 21st century and its implication for teacher education. Be sure to cite evidence from the resources to support this scholarly proposal.
As you discovered in this week’s Learning Resources, the word “data” represents anything from a personal interaction, and testing in the classroom to test scores, to state statistics. Data can take the form of achievement, demographic, program, or perception data. As the leader of learners in your school or district, you will be expected to collect data and use it to help match instructional needs to the concerns expressed by your local teachers, administrators, and other educational leaders.
This week, you will prepare a scholarly proposal making the case for changing instructional techniques. As part of this assignment, you should:
Interview a special education coordinator, department lead, or other personnel who would have student achievement data representing areas of concern
Review strategies learned in this course and select one or more instructional strategies you could recommend as an intervention to meet the concern
Conduct a literature review to support your intervention decision.
