Paper details: On case analysis paper: For this second case analysis paper, you are expected to go well beyond just using the case. Please find and cite (or more

likely we may try to provide these articles to you) two very current news articles on the internet about Dropbox’s current strategic situation and its problems or

strengths, and what it is trying to do with its new offerings, briefly summarize this in your paper, and then use tools, themes, and concepts from the course (for

example the changing basis of competition; the changing dynamics of the industry and related technologies and markets and how this affects both opportunities and

threats; the use of partnerships; competitive assessment / SWOT, and of course business model thinking to analyze this, and make your own recommendations on what they

should do now. How can you use the big ideas from Its Official!

Specific and actionable recommendations relevant to its current situation and based on your analysis and application of concepts to facts of the case and the news

articles are an important part of your paper. We expect you to be ?opinionated? and then to support your opinions with reasons and facts. Use the check-list to help

you!

However one change here is that you do not now have to find the current news articles. Instead two former students have helped me find some short excellent articles

about the Dropbox company?s current situation and the challenges it is facing, ?How Dropbox plans to conquer business (April 2014)? , ?Dropbox?s new strategy is to own

your phone (April 2014)?, and ?Can Dropbox and Box survive as independent services (June 2014) [see the scary language I have highlighted in yellow on this article]. I

have included these three on Blackboard in the folder for class 6. These are required reading for the paper and for the class discussion, well written, and show how

fast things can change, and should provide ?plenty of fat for the fire.?,
