Observation Mini-Study
As noted on your syllabus, you will be expected to design and conduct another mini-study. This assignment is similar to the interview you conducted in Soc331, with the exception that you are now required to do an Observational Mini-Study. This discussion board is designed to assist you in this process. Your initial post is due by the end of week one.
NOTE: YOU DO HAVE TO COMPLETE THIS STUDY, THOUGH THE TOPIC CAN BE INDENPENDENT OF YOUR RESEARCH QUESTION TOPIC.
A. The topic you have chosen, what is the phenomenon surrounding it which you wish to study (problem statement) and why this is this interesting to you.
B. Create a research question which encapsulates your mini-study.
C. Discuss how the qualitative research method will guide your mini-study.. Provide a rationale or in other words, explain why you think your proposed research method would be better than any other.
D. Provide why you believe that the observation data collection method will work best for your topic?
E. Discuss some preliminary thoughts on the type of observation you will use as well as your role as the observer
