The purpose of this assignment is to help you identify the research material you will use for your final paper. For this paper, you will write an annotated

bibliography of six sources. As you already know, research can only take place in relation to previous research on the topic. Thus, when constructing your

bibliography, identify the academic conversation in response to which you will be writing your paper. In other words, these sources will not simply provide information

and data for you. They must also help you to identify the current research on your topic, and help you to locate an argument that can lead to a longer paper. Be wise

in the way you choose your sources. Do not go for the first hits on Google although this may be a good place to start!
First, identify five research articles you will read for your final paper accessed from an online database through UB libraries.
Next, write annotations for each of the articles. Each annotation should be at least 200 words. They should present a concise summary of the argument presented in the

paper, your own brief analysis of the article, and how the article relates to the larger academic conversation you have identified. Below is a possible structure you

can use:
This article argues that . . . . .
So far in my research I have found that . . . . and this article confirms/ denies/ challenges these findings . . . . .(how)
In the context of the larger conversation that I have identified, X’s claim that . . . . is important because . .
