Analysing a Project
As a current or future project management professional, you will be routinely expected to apply project management fundamentals to the projects for which you are responsible. One of the best ways to prepare for such responsibilities is to analyse previous projects. Throughout this course, you will apply fundamental concepts of project management to an existing environment and project that you are aware of. You selected this environment and project in Module 1, capturing the pertinent details in an SOW.
In this module, you will complete Part 1: Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)/Task Duration. For this part, by hand or via use of a software drawing tool, create a WBS for the organisation and project you selected for study. In approximately 500 words, explain why you chose your approach when creating the WBS for this project. Also include an argument for what method(s) you would use to determine task duration. Include your WBS diagram in your submission by embedding it as an image in the document.
